New Ancillary Building in Taucha

The town of Taucha (Nordsachsen district) is located in the immediate vicinity of the city of Leipzig. Its location on the outskirts of Leipzig makes Taucha particularly attractive for living and continues to draw new residents. It is therefore necessary to increase the opportunities for sports activities during leisure time and, of course, in school sports.

The existing sports facilities of the Sports and Leisure Centre are primarily used by sports clubs. The main sports are football and athletics. In addition, the facilities are used for school and recreational sports.

The outdoor sports facilities were renovated between 2019 and 2023. The existing catering area is open to the public in the evenings and on weekends and primarily serves to provide for guests at major events.

The client is a subsidiary of the town of Taucha. The company’s purpose includes the development and operation of sports and leisure facilities. The company is therefore commissioned to carry out the construction project in accordance with § 148 BauGB. Accordingly, a two-story ancillary building is to be constructed on the grounds of the Sports and Leisure Centre, parallel to the stadium grandstand, between the car park and the small-field pitch. A direct connection to the current existing building is not planned. The construction will be carried out using an innovative timber-hybrid method.

The choice of a timber-hybrid construction method clearly indicates that the client planned the new building under the premises of economic efficiency, ecology, and sustainability and wishes to see it implemented accordingly. The roof is therefore to be a green roof and equipped with a photovoltaic system, which, among other things, should lead to partial energy self-sufficiency for the property. Furthermore, the building must meet accessibility requirements.

The toilet facilities, not least for major events, are to be located in the new building.

The planning services already rendered up to service phase 4 according to §§ 34 ff. HOAI, as well as the functional performance specification, are fully enclosed with the tender.

The intended room program and its arrangement can be found in the draft design and the building permit.
